Specifically, the Prime Minister reassigned and appointed Tran Anh Tuan, assistant to Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, as assistant to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

The Prime Minister also reassigned and appointed Phan Van Trong, secretary to the Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, as assistant to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

In another decision, the Prime Minister appointed Le Hoang Tung, former assistant to a former Politburo member and former Standing Deputy Prime Minister, as assistant to Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc.

Under Politburo regulations, individuals appointed as assistants to the Prime Minister must meet general standards regarding political integrity, ethics, lifestyle, professional qualifications, competence and credibility.

Candidates must hold at least a university degree, possess in-depth understanding of their assigned fields, and demonstrate strong research, analytical, synthesis, advisory and coordination capabilities.

Assistants to the Prime Minister are responsible for advising on and proposing programs and work plans for government leaders, suggesting matters related to their duties and authority, and directly or jointly preparing documents, articles and speeches upon request.

Their authority includes coordinating with agencies and individuals to implement and monitor assigned tasks, requesting information and documents necessary for their work, and attending and speaking at meetings, conferences and seminars within their scope of responsibility.

Assistants to the Prime Minister are entitled to salaries, benefits and policies equivalent to those of vice ministers.
