Speaking at the appointment ceremony, Health Minister Dao Hong Lan emphasized that one of the agency’s central tasks is revising the Law on Food Safety and developing a proposal to unify food safety management agencies in line with directives from the Politburo and Party Chief and President To Lam.

The minister urged Thinh to fully leverage his expertise, experience and spirit of solidarity in leading the agency to successfully fulfill the responsibilities assigned by the Ministry of Health.

Accepting the appointment, Thinh said the new role was both an honor and a major responsibility, especially as the food safety sector faces increasingly urgent challenges.

The Vietnam Food Safety Authority currently has two deputy director-generals: Nguyen Minh Hang and Bui Duc Lap.
