Recent leaks suggest Oppo is preparing a hardware powerhouse that focuses heavily on mobile photography, possibly outshining rivals in both versatility and raw camera capabilities.

Dual 200MP sensors and a return to true telephoto

According to insiders, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to feature a quad-camera system, headlined by two 200MP sensors and two 50MP sensors.

Of particular note is a dedicated 10x optical zoom lens with an equivalent focal length of 230mm, marking a return to the kind of super-telephoto optics that haven't been widely seen since the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Another telephoto module will reportedly handle mid-range zoom with a 3x optical zoom (roughly 70mm focal length, f/2.2 aperture) using a new OmniVision sensor sized at 1/1.28", promising enhanced low-light performance.

Full camera breakdown leaked

If current leaks are accurate, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s rear camera setup could include:

·        Ultra-wide lens (15mm), 50MP, Samsung JN5 sensor, 1/2.76"

·        Main wide lens (23mm), 200MP, Sony LYT-901 sensor, 1/1.12"

·        Periscope zoom (70mm), 200MP, OmniVision OV52A sensor, 1/1.28"

·        Super-telephoto (230mm), 50MP, Samsung JN5 sensor, 1/2.76"

This lineup suggests Oppo is aiming for one of the most comprehensive mobile photography experiences ever, covering everything from ultra-wide to extreme zoom while maintaining high-quality performance across the entire focal range.

A growing threat in the flagship wars

Chinese smartphone brands are heating up the Ultra segment. Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 17 Ultra domestically, with a global release likely in March. Vivo is expected to join the fray in Europe with the Vivo X300 Ultra, and now Oppo’s Find X9 Ultra rounds out a trio of heavy hitters challenging the long-dominant Galaxy Ultra line.

Each of these flagships is pushing boundaries not just in camera hardware but also in chipset performance, battery life, and display technology-offering global consumers more serious alternatives to Samsung and Apple.

Samsung under pressure

With speculation that Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra may only bring minor camera upgrades, the competition has intensified. Oppo’s aggressive camera push could unsettle Samsung’s dominance, especially if software and computational photography are refined to match the hardware.

That said, having impressive specs on paper is only part of the equation. Oppo still needs to deliver robust image processing and user experience-an area where its Find X9 Pro already made a strong showing.

If Oppo executes well, the Find X9 Ultra could be more than just a spec-sheet marvel-it could reshape expectations for premium camera phones in 2026.

Still, the real test awaits when the device officially debuts in the coming months.
