VietNamNet Bridge – On March 9, a partial eclipse was observed in Ho Chi Minh City. In Hanoi, astronomy fans could not see the wonderful natural phenomenon because of dense clouds.

According to previous information from NASA, the total eclipse would take place on March 9. The path of the total eclipse would go through part of the central Indonesia and the Pacific.

Southeast Asia and northern Australia could observe partial eclipse. In Vietnam, all provinces and cities were able to observe the eclipse with the sun coverage from 20% - 60%.

However, because of dense cloud, people in Hanoi failed to observe the phenomenon.

In HCMC, people could see the solar eclipse from 7am to 9am, with the maximum coverage of 30 percent at 8am.

This is the 6th eclipse in Vietnam. Total eclipse occurs once each in Vietnam on 24/10/1995. This phenomenon is forecasted to appear in 2019.
