The Central Inspection Commission held its 15th session on October 28, chaired by its head, Tran Sy Thanh.

During the session, the commission reviewed a report proposing disciplinary measures against Party members found to have committed violations within the Cao Bang Provincial Party Organization.

The commission identified Trinh Truong Huy, a Party member of the Research and General Affairs II Cell under the Party Organization of the Provincial People's Committee Office, a former member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term and former vice chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

It also identified Nguyen Ngoc Thu, a member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, a member of a specialized research team advising and assisting the provincial Party leadership, and former secretary of the Party Committee and director of the provincial Department of Education and Training.

According to the commission, both officials had shown deterioration in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle, and violated Party regulations and state laws in performing their assigned duties, including requirements related to preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness and other misconduct.

They were also found to have breached regulations on conduct prohibited for Party members and their responsibility to set an example.

The commission concluded that their violations had caused very serious consequences and severely damaged the reputation of Party organizations and local authorities, warranting disciplinary action.

It therefore recommended that the Party Central Committee's Secretariat consider and impose disciplinary measures against Trinh Truong Huy and Nguyen Ngoc Thu.

The commission also reviewed the results of its supervision of the Party Committee's Standing Board and standing leadership members at Vietnam Maritime Corporation.

While acknowledging certain positive aspects, it identified violations and shortcomings in leadership, direction and implementation of working regulations, personnel management, and the responsibilities and authority of representatives managing state capital in enterprises.

Other shortcomings involved the management and use of finances, assets and investment projects, implementation of conclusions from inspections and audits, and declarations of assets and income.

The commission instructed the corporation's Party Committee Standing Board and the supervised Party members to conduct serious self-reviews, draw lessons from the findings and develop plans to promptly address the identified violations and shortcomings.

They were also required to report the results of their corrective measures to the Central Inspection Commission.

During the same session, the commission considered and resolved one appeal concerning Party disciplinary action and reviewed several other important matters.
