Patrick Patterson celebrates his fourth stage win at the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup.

Right after the start, strong teams such as Ho Chi Minh City Police cycling team, Dong Thap cycling team, Loc Troi An Giang cycling team and Military Region 7 cycling team launched continuous attacks, pushing the peloton to a high pace in search of a breakthrough. Breakaway attempts came in quick succession, fueled by enthusiastic support from crowds across the Mekong Delta.

At the first sprint point, Ilia Shchegolkov of Nhua Binh Minh Ho Chi Minh City showed superior strength to cross the line first. At the second sprint, Roman Maikin of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang executed a successful solo acceleration to claim an impressive win.

In the closing laps, attacks from Pham Le Xuan Loc (Military Region 7) and Moise (Ho Chi Minh City Vinama) failed to break free from the control of the main group. At this point, the Vinh Long teams took charge of the pace, creating ideal conditions for their lead sprinter, Patrick Patterson.

Living up to his teammates’ support, the New Zealand rider unleashed a powerful sprint to cross the finish line first, securing his fourth stage victory of this year’s race.

After stage 22, the overall standings remain unchanged. Yarash Uladzislau of Ho Chi Minh City New Group continues to hold the yellow jersey, while Pham Le Xuan Loc retains the orange jersey for the best Vietnamese rider. Tran Trong Phuc of Vo Dac Dong Nai keeps the white jersey for the best young rider, and Marchuk Dzianis of Kenda Dong Nai maintains the green jersey for the sprint leader. Ho Chi Minh City Vinama remains at the top of the team standings.

According to the schedule, stage 23 of the race will take place on April 28, covering 114 km from Can Tho to My Tho.
