It is organized with the spirit of converging and creating new ideas, new fields, and pioneering and innovative models that will shape future economic sectors.
According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh, the conference is an opportunity for Vietnam to understand and contribute to new issues, trends, new driving forces for world economic growth, and to exchange development thinking and governance at the national and global levels.
The conference also provides a platform to promote Vietnam's achievements in economic and social growth, conveying a strong message about a dynamic and innovative Vietnam, an attractive destination for global corporations.
It also allows Vietnam to strengthen exchanges and promote relations with countries, partners, and international organizations, affirming its role and position in the international community, contributing to the effective implementation of the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.
In January 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland (WEF Davos 2024) at the invitation of WEF Founder and Chairman Klaus Schwab. The WEF Davos 2024 Conference took place from January 15-19, 2024, with the theme "Rebuilding Trust." Vietnam was one of nine partners proposed by WEF to coordinate in organizing the National Strategic Dialogue with WEF, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was among eight leaders of countries having a separate dialogue with WEF.
After more than 74 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam-China relations have maintained a stable development trend and achieved many important results. High-level exchanges and contacts take place regularly.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made an official visit to China in October 2022. In December 2023, during the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, the two countries issued a Joint Statement on continuing to deepen and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, and signed 36 cooperation documents in many fields.
In 2024, high-level and all-level exchanges and contacts between Vietnam and China will continue to take place vigorously, in many flexible forms, across Party, State, and people-to-people channels.
