Under the directive signed on December 25, the Politburo acknowledged Party and State organisations’ efforts in executing thrift practice and waste prevention in recent times, but pointed out that the awareness of thrift practice and anti-wastefulness remains incomplete, while the implementation of requirements is not strictly enforced.
The Politburo requested that Party organisations, administrations, Fatherland Fronts, and socio-political organisations move to strictly implement the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies, and laws on thrift practice and waste prevention, considering this a central, regular task of the entire political and social system.
The Politburo emphasised the necessity of perfecting laws; completing regulations, economic-technical norms, unit prices, and public spending mechanisms; enhancing the role and responsibility of the head of the organisation; incorporating thrift practice and waste prevention into universal education, as well as working to improve the quality of communication campaigns.
It particularly requested deliberately resolving pending issues at national key projects and commercial banks which prove to be inefficient in operation; continuing to streamline the administration system toward efficiency; and strengthening the application of science and technology, digital transformation, administrative reform, and socialization of provision of public services.
The Politburo also underscored the importance of increasing inspection and audits, focusing on fields that are prone to waste and negativity in order to timely detect, prevent, and strictly handle organisations and individuals which violate laws and cause loss and waste of resources.
