Important orientation on preserving traditional culture
Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress, the term 2020 - 2025, identifies the "Program to preserve and promote the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups associated with tourism development" as one of four key programs during the term. The Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU, dated February 17, 2021 on "Preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups associated with tourism development in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030" and Conclusion No. 224-KL/TU dated October 18, 2021 on continuing to implement the project "Improving efficiency and quality of ideology work of the Provincial Party Committee".
On that basis, party committees and authorities at all levels have issued resolutions, programs, projects and plans for implementation; which focuses on the establishment and maintenance of conservation clubs to promote the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in 20% of high schools.
In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of Plan No. 61-KH/TU, dated December 22, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee on implementing Conclusion No. 224-KL/TU dated October 18, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on continuing to implement the project "Improving the efficiency and quality of ideological work of the Provincial Party Committee". On March 10, 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 786/ KH-People's Committee on organizing the Workshop "Assessing the effectiveness of the conservation Club's activities and promoting the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in schools" in Lai Chau province.
A workshop with the theme "Current situation, solutions to build and organize effective activities of the Conservation Club, promoting the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in schools in Lai Chau province" was recently held. At the event, attendants heard reports and presentations from representatives of departments, agencies, district People's Committees, artisans and representatives of Conservation Clubs on promoting traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in schools.
The presentations were carefully prepared and focused on issues such as: The role of State management agencies in directing and guiding the construction and operation of Conservation Clubs, promoting the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in schools; advantages, difficulties and solutions in leadership, direction, support and guidance in building and maintaining the activities of these clubs; issues emerging in building and maintaining the activities of clubs for preserving traditional cultures of ethnic groups in schools today...
After nearly 2 years of implementing the project, it can be affirmed that preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in schools in Lai Chau province is a correct and effective policy.
“Correct awareness leads to correct action”
To effectively deploy the activities of the Conservation Clubs and promote the good traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in schools in the coming time, according to Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tong Thanh Hai, awareness is very important, "correct awareness leads to right action", especially the awareness of local authorities and leaders.
According to Mr. Hai, it is necessary to create an environment to preservation and that is the environment from clubs, competitions, festivals, with rewards and honors. Management agencies need to immediately provide direction and guidance so that on a certain foundation, culture can develop diversely but firmly.
Besides, it is necessary to promote the role of artisans - the holders of cultural heritage and traditions, and the living museums - to exploit, preserve, and transmit to the next generation, and at the same time, to review, recognize and encourage artisans.
For relevant departments and branches, Mr. Hai proposed: The Department of Education and Training presides and coordinates with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Finance to guide content and images, procedures and spending norms for activities of the Cultural Preservation Clubs in schools, ensuring compliance with regulations;
Continue to have solutions to implement cultural preservation in schools associated with the activities of Decision No. 1299/QD-TTg dated October 3, 2018 of the Prime Minister on the approval of the Project "Building a culture of behavior in schools in the period 2018 - 2025" and Plan of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated June 1, 2022 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the implementation of school culture in Lai Chau province;
Departments, agencies and localities, based on their assigned functions and tasks, must direct the Provincial Museum and historical relics to create the best conditions and priorities for schools in organizing research, sightseeing activities to learn about the historical and cultural values of the province and the country in order to educate historical and revolutionary traditions for students.
He asked specialized departments and committees to continue to provide support and direction to help preservation clubs effectively implement the content of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in schools effectively and practically…
