Private shops have slashed selling prices of old-generation iPhones

iPhone 7 is now offered at VND6 million for the 32GB memory version, a decrease of VND1.2 million. The price of iPhone 7 128 GB is now selling at VND7 million, which means a drop of VND800,000.

As for iPhone 7 Plus, the prices are VND9 million and VND10.2 million for 32 GB and 128 GB versions, respectively, or VND500,000 lower than pre-Tet days. 

The VND500,000 price decrease has also been applied to iPhone 6S 16 GB, which now has the quoted price of VND6.2 million. 

“The supply is now more plentiful and the prices have also gone down. We decided to lower the prices to stimulate demand,” said Hoai Giang, the owner of a private shop on Cau Giay street in Hanoi.  iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the best sellers in his network. 

“Though iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are no longer the latest generation, they are still favored by customers thanks to stable performance, good camera and software updates,” Giang explained. 

Newer models such as iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are also being hunted by iPhone fans. The prices of both have decreased by VND500,000 to VND12.9 million and VND16.2 million for the 64GB version.

Nguyen Huy Tan, media representative of a retail chain, confirmed that iPhone 7, 8 and iPhone X are still selling well despite a great number of other choices. 

He said retail chains have slashed prices to boost sales on holidays in mid and end of April.

Tan said that the sales of iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X through his network had been stable. “The products allow users to have good experience and cameras. Besides, iPhone X has the appearance just like iPhone 2018 series and the prices are considerably lower.”

Authorized resellers have also lowered the selling prices of previous-generation iPhones. The prices quoted at the chains are always higher than at private shops because buyers can enjoy an official warranty and better post-sale services. 

iPhone 6S Plus 32 GB is quoted at VND9.8 million, or VND1.2 million lower than previously. iPhone 7 32GB is selling at VND12 million (- VND1 million) while iPhone 8 Plus VND19.5 million (- VND1.5 million).
