On the afternoon of June 27, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation landed at Noi Bai airport, concluding the working trip to attend the World Economic Forum Dalian 2024 and work in China.

Speaking to the press after the trip, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized many results and highlights of Vietnam at this conference.

In particular, according to the Foreign Minister, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of two heads of State/Government invited by WEF and the host country China to attend the conference.

At this conference, the Prime Minister and the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam brought many important messages to the port city of Dalian, both at the conference and in meetings with partners.

With the highlight being a special speech at the opening session of the plenary session of the WEF Dalian Conference in front of about 1,700 guests from 80 countries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared Vietnam's inspiring story of innovation, integration and development.

The Prime Minister also conveyed profound and clear messages about the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development, policies, visions, and strategic orientations for national development of the Party and State of Vietnam.

Within the framework of the conference, Minister Bui Thanh Son said that the Prime Minister had open, sincere, and in-depth exchanges with partners and businesses, demonstrating Vietnam's spirit of innovation and determination in transforming the growth model, creating a favorable environment for investors.

“WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab praised Vietnam as a dynamic economy, a beacon of economic development, and a growth engine of the region,” said Minister Bui Thanh Son.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the Prime Minister's sharing was highly appreciated by business community partners, demonstrated through their excitement, interest, and desire to invest and do business in Vietnam, especially in new sectors.

Also during this working trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had talks and meetings with senior Chinese leaders.

"The results and significance of the talks and meetings with senior Chinese leaders are clearly demonstrated in four aspects," Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized.

The first aspect, according to Minister Bui Thanh Son, is to maintain regular high-level strategic exchanges between the two Parties and two countries, consolidate and enhance political trust between the two sides, and promote an important guiding role in the development of bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and senior Chinese leaders affirmed the importance of the Party and State of each side to the bilateral relationship, as well as the special role and position of the bilateral relationship in the overall foreign policy of each country.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister affirmed that strengthening and developing friendly and cooperative relations with China is an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy.

The senior Chinese leader also emphasized the importance of relations with Vietnam, identifying this as a priority direction in China's overall neighborly foreign policy.

The two sides expressed their high determination and efforts to promote bilateral relations increasingly deeper, more comprehensive and substantive, together towards the important milestone of 2025, the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations.

Second, based on the review and overall assessment of the cooperation situation in the past time, the two sides have in-depth discussions and agreed on specific directions and measures to promote cooperation in various fields in the coming time.

In particular, the two sides agreed to strengthen the connection between the "Two Corridors, One Belt" framework and the "Belt and Road" initiative, especially in terms of transport infrastructure; speed up the connection of railways in border areas, promote cooperation in developing a number of standard gauge railways in the northern region of Vietnam.

The two sides also agreed to further promote trade cooperation, especially agricultural trade; exchange measures to improve customs clearance efficiency, upgrade border gate infrastructure, study and promote the construction of smart border gates, border economic cooperation zones; promote high-quality Chinese investment in Vietnam.

Thirdly, according to the Foreign Minister, the two sides are constantly consolidating a solid social foundation for the development of relations.

“The two sides agreed to consider this a ‘systemic project’ to work hard to promote, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China is constantly inherited, passed on and promoted,” the Foreign Minister emphasized.

The fourth aspect emphasized by the Foreign Minister is to properly handle disagreements, together maintaining a peaceful and stable environment.

The two sides agreed to continue to strictly implement agreements and common perceptions, effectively control and properly handle disagreements, not allowing disagreements to affect the overall relationship between the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world.
