The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 15th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized Vietnam's efforts to strengthen transport connectivity, particularly railways, to promote industrialization, modernization, and overall national development. He highlighted the importance of collaborating with neighboring China in this endeavor, seeking China's support in design, construction, and technology transfer for key railway projects such as the Yunnan-Lao Cai-Hai Phong, Lang Son-Hanoi, and Dongxing-Mong Cai-Hai Phong routes.

Lou Qiliang, CRSC Chairman, acknowledged the significant role of railway development in China's progress and expressed CRSC's interest in collaborating with Vietnam. He highlighted CRSC's expertise in railway signals and urban railways, noting the group's substantial market share and capabilities in design, production, and digital transformation of railway control systems.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung introduced Vietnam's digital transformation program, emphasizing the potential for cooperation with CRSC in enterprise digital transformation projects.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang underscored the strategic importance of developing a high-speed North-South railway system, expressing hope for collaboration with China in railways, carriages, and signal systems.

The Vietnamese Government is prioritizing the construction of urban railway systems in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, creating ample opportunities for cooperation. Mr. Thang informed that the government is directing three railway projects connecting with China, with hopes that by mid-2025, the two sides can implement the first project on the Lao Cai - Hai Phong route.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed on the importance of managing railways with digital technology and emphasized the need for human resource training in railway projects. He expressed hope for CRSC's attention to these issues and anticipated further discussions to advance the projects.
