The central province of Quang Ngai is making the first steps of building a dossier for its Ly Son geo-park to become a global one.

Covering an area of 10 kilometers, Ly Son owns valuable geological, geomorphic, cultural, ecological, and landscape values.

Quang Ngai is working hard to quickly complete its dossier.

The park's management board has coordinated with the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources to conduct many studies to assess the park's geological, geomorphological and cultural values as well as its biodiversity.

The efforts being made by Quang Ngai are expected to make the Ly Son geo-park be eligible to become a global geo-park.

Vietnam currently has two global geo-parks, namely Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark in the northernmost province of Ha Giang and Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark in the northern province of Cao Bang.-VNA
