The Board of Directors of Rang Dong expects to receive support in tax, land rent, and corporate income tax, as well as other incentives to create favourable conditions for the investor to develop the project.
According to Nguyen Doan Thang, chairman cum CEO of Rang Dong, the company suffered a damage 480,000 fluorescents, 2 million lamps, and 1.6 million compact lamps, with the total value of VND150 billion ($6.52 million).

Earlier, in August, a fire started at Rang Dong Light Source and Vacuum Flask JSC on Ha Dinh Street, in Hanoi's Thanh Xuan district at 6 pm. Nearly 50 fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. The fire spread from Rang Dong to the adjacent warehouse of Dong Luc Group. It was extinguished by 11.40 pm.
The fire caused significant concern among local residents after news of mercury and other toxic chemicals being released into the environment went viral. The fears were exacerbated by news of nearly 60 people being hospitalised with symptoms of allergic reactions and dizziness.
Previously, according to a government proposal, Rang Dong was supposed to be relocated to Que Vo Industrial Zone (IZ) in the northern province of Bac Ninh, about an hour drive from Hanoi, to free up land for more fruitful endeavours.
In line with the regulations, Rang Dong can convert the land use purpose of the site in Thanh Xuan district through a joint venture or by establishing a new legal entity. However, so far, the company has not made plans to relocate and the spot in Que Vo IZ remains empty. VIR
