A photo featuring a wedding which took place on October 8 has spread on social network. The bride and groom are seen holding two identical baby girls in their arms. Next to her is a girl wearing a white dress who looks very much like the bride. Two pairs of boys and girls stand on the left and right sides.

Dang Thi Hong, 29, told VietNamNet that this is a photo taken at the wedding ceremony of her twin younger sister – Dang Thi Phuong.

Phuong has been living and working overseas for five years. One month ago, she and her husband returned to Vietnam to organize a wedding ceremony in the hometown in Nghi Loc, Nghe An province.

Hong said her grandmother gave birth to five sons and two daughters, including twin boys born in 1973 that she calls ‘uncles’ in accordance with the Vietnamese tradition.

Among the children, Hong’s mother and her youngest aunt also gave birth to twin girls. Tens of years later, Hong and Phuong got married and Hong gave birth to twin boys in 2017 after giving birth to the first child in 2015. Meanwhile, Phuong now lives with her family overseas and has three children, including twin girls.

“Since it is difficult to tell twins apart, in the past, both of us were called Hong and Phuong, with no discrimination about who is the elder sister and younger sister. And the same thing is occurring with my twin boys,” Hong said.

The photo, after being posted on social networks, has attracted the attention of many people and in their eyes, the twins are a nice surprise.

“I’m surprised when hearing that the photo of my family has become well known. I feel happy,” Hong said.

It is expected that both Hong and Phuong and their families will leave Vietnam in late October for Germany where they will settle down with their uncles, brother and relatives of the family.

Hong has also revealed an interesting secret that her parents once had a cow and the cow gave birth to two calves.

“The calves grew up healthy and the villagers came to our home to see the twins with their eyes. It was so great,” Hong said.

The family received sincere wishes after the post was posted on social media.

“That’s great. Are there any statistics about the number of twins in Vietnam and the number of families with many sets of twins?” a netizen wrote.
