After attending the official banquet, President Putin left the Hanoi Opera House around 10 p.m. For security purposes, police cordoned off roads along the route from Hanoi to Noi Bai Airport.
During his 20-hour stay in Vietnam, President Putin had a busy schedule filled with important activities.
The Russian President held talks with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and President To Lam, and met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
President Putin also visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid flowers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs. Together with President To Lam, he met with Vietnamese alumni who graduated from universities in the Soviet Union and Russia.
In a friendly and cordial atmosphere, both sides had in-depth discussions on numerous topics and directions for promoting Vietnam-Russia relations in politics, economics, trade, science, technology, and the humanities. They also addressed many international and regional issues of mutual concern in a spirit of trust.
The visit concluded with the issuance of a Joint Statement on deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, building on the achievements of 30 years of implementing the Treaty on the Fundamental Principles of Vietnam-Russia Friendship Relations.
