The cement plant is managed by Yen Bai Cement and Mineral Joint Stock Company.

The workplace accident happened at 13:30 on April 22 at a workshop of the cement plant in Yen Binh district of Yen Bai province, said local authorities.

When it happened, workers were doing the repair work of the stone crushing line, they added.

At the scene, seven workers died and three other were injured. The injured workers were taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Hearing about the news, leaders of the provincial administration and the provincial police rushed to the scene to deal with the rescue work and launch an investigation into the cause of the tragic accident.
