The Odyssey continues strong run
Although it has slipped to second place after three weeks in cinemas, The Odyssey continues to perform well.
The epic adventure has generated nearly VND 83 billion (USD 3.2 million) in Vietnam as of August 2, putting it on track to join the country's VND 100 billion box office club.
Japanese animated feature Detective Conan: Fallen Angel on the Highway holds third place with total earnings of VND 114 billion (USD 4.4 million).
Hollywood animation Minions & Monsters ranks fourth after collecting VND 158 billion (USD 6 million).
New release Wonderland rounds out the top five despite posting a comparatively modest opening weekend.
The latest rankings also mark a rare moment for Vietnam's theatrical market, with all five top-grossing films currently being international releases, leaving no domestic productions in the weekend's top five.
