Located to the east of Van Don district and northwest of the large Co To island in Quang Ninh province, the 7 Sao is a chain of seven islands connected by smooth white sand roads.

The most special feature here are the sandy roads going in the middle of the sea. When the tide recedes, these roads appear, connecting the seven islands. Visitors can experience the feeling of leisurely walking on the fine sand, or when the sea water has not yet receded, feel the cool water and watch the sea snails groping for food.

The Sao islands still are pristine, quiet and fresh. There are no motels or restaurants on the island, but only snail farming households. Any guest who comes to the island is enthusiastically welcomed by the locals.

In addition to swimming, walking and sightseeing, visitors can also catch snails. Just walking around the islands for a while, one can pick up a full basket of snails, which should be steamed on the spot for a sweet and fresh taste.

At night, visitors can camp on the fine sand, listen to the waves crashing and look at the starry sky. They can join locals to hunt crabs, catch fish, sea cucumbers, or go fishing. There are many dolphins around the island. If they are lucky, tourists may have seen dolphins swimming around.

On the islands, visitors can sit quietly to see the pink-orange sunset, feel the fresh wind, and let the beautiful scenery soothe and heal their soul.

There are many wide, unspoiled rocky and pure white sand beaches, where tourists can easily take beautiful pictures. Photo: Son Bien Dao
