Social media shows photos workers of a factory receiving cushions as Tet gifts. A representative of Song Hong Nam Dinh Garment Company told VietNamNet that the company has the ‘tradition’ of giving Tet bonues in kind. In addition to the cushions valued at VND4 million each, workers of the company also receive two months’ salaries and other gifts worth VND400,000.

Cushions are provided in different sizes and workers choose the sizes that fit their beds. Workers were informed in advance about the special gift, so that they could choose the best way to carry the cushions home. Most of them carry the cushions on their motorbikes.

Minh Khoa Electro-Mechanics Company decided to give essential food products to its workers, including rice, chicken, bread and pork. 

Nguyen Van Hung, 34, from Vinh Phuc, told Thanh Nien that he received 12 gifts for 12 months of the year, including 10 kilograms of ordinary rice, 5 kilograms of sticky rice, one chicken, 1 box of instant noodle, 1 kilogram of pork, broth mix, sugar, fish sauce, vermicelli, rice papers, vegetable oil and eggs.

All were bought and distributed by the head of the company. Instead of beer, the company decided to give one fowl to each worker for family reunion parties on Tet days.

In addition, workers of the company have received another bonus – the 13th month salary. 

Cua Ong Coal Company, a subsidiary of Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group, spent VND4.8 billion to buy fresh garrupa to give its workers as Tet gifts.

The company has 3,700 workers and each receives 5 kilograms of fish. The idea of giving bonus in fish was applauded by workers. Garrupa is a specialty of Quang Ninh and the purchase of fish in large quantity helps stimulate demand.

In addition to fish, each worker receives VND8 million and the 13th-month salary (VND13 million on average).

Meanwhile, Freetrend in LinhTrung1 EPZ(Export Processing Zone) gave gold to experienced workers as an award for their contributions to the company’s achievements. Workers with service length of 10 years at the company receive 0.1 tael of gold, while workers with 20-year service length receive 0.15 taels.

Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam in Binh Duong gave 24 special Tet gifts to workers with working time of 15 years or longer, including 0.1 tael of gold, a thank-you letter and flowers.
