Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc and Phuong My Chi didn’t just dominate charts - they redefined modern Vietnamese music with bold cultural expressions.
In 2025, Vietnamese music saw an explosive surge in global visibility, led by a dynamic trio: Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc and Phuong My Chi. Their achievements included hit songs with hundreds of millions of views, prestigious domestic and international awards, and powerful representations of Vietnamese culture in the digital age.
Hoa Minzy and the global appeal of Vietnamese folk fusion
Singer Hoa Minzy.
Born in 1995, Hoa Minzy has undergone a striking transformation - from a mainstream pop singer to a neo-folk icon, blending traditional Vietnamese sounds with modern styles. Her 2025 smash hit Bac Bling, a collaboration with artists Xuan Hinh and Tuan Cry, brought together the northern folk style quan ho Bac Ninh with pulsating EDM beats.
In just 81 days, the music video broke V-pop records as the fastest to reach 200 million views - beating the previous 102-day record held by Jack and K-ICM’s Song Gio. The video has now amassed 274 million views on YouTube.
She was named “Vietnamese Cultural Inspiration Artist of the Year” at the September 2025 YouTube Works Awards, celebrating her use of digital platforms to promote national heritage. In October, she also won “Female Singer of the Year – Contemporary Folk” at the Harper’s Bazaar Star Awards.
That same month, she was honored among the “Top 20 Exemplary Young People 2025” by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Hoa Minzy was also invited to perform at the grand military parade in Ba Dinh Square to mark the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day.
Her award wins and hit releases have driven her performance fees to new heights, placing her among the highest-paid artists in the industry. She is expected to be a leading contender for “Singer of the Year” at multiple upcoming award shows.
Duc Phuc brings Vietnamese mythology to the world stage
Singer Duc Phuc performs Phu Dong Thien Vuong.
The 29-year-old winner of The Voice Vietnam 2015, Duc Phuc, made headlines in 2025 after winning Intervision, an international music competition hosted by Russia. His winning performance, Phu Dong Thien Vuong, was inspired by the Vietnamese legend of Saint Giong and poet Nguyen Duy’s Vietnamese Bamboo, paired with grand stage design, traditional orchestration, laser effects, and choreography. The production cost billions of dong.
This international achievement earned Duc Phuc the “International Achievement of the Year” award at the Harper’s Bazaar Star Awards. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recognized the performance as “a source of pride for contemporary Vietnamese music and culture.” On September 26, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 2135/QD-TTg to award him a certificate of merit.

In March 2025, she was honored with the “Promising Young Face” award at the Vietnam Outstanding Youth Awards. By August, she had released Made in Vietnam - a collaboration with DTAP, People's Artist Thanh Hoa and Truc Nhan - which won three major prizes at the International Music Video Awards (IMVA).
She later emerged as the champion of the show Em xinh say hi at the end of August 2025 and performed across a series of national festivals from A50 to A80.
Phuong My Chi also made strides in cinema, starring in the feature film Nha gia tien (The Ancestral Home), which debuted in early 2025 and marked a significant step in her multi-faceted career.
