At the first meeting of the 14th Party Central Committee held this morning, members voted to elect 13 individuals to serve on the Secretariat for the new term.

Later in the day, during the closing session of the 14th National Party Congress, on behalf of the Presidium, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man announced that the Central Committee had approved the composition of the 14th Secretariat, consisting of 13 members. Of these, 10 are Politburo members assigned to the Secretariat by internal arrangement.

Three additional members were elected at the Central Committee's first session. They are:

Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Central Committee member and Vice President of Vietnam

Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Central Committee member, member of the Party Committee of the Government, and Deputy Prime Minister

Nguyen Van Quang, Central Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court

These new appointments bring gender diversity and institutional experience into the Party’s executive leadership body.

Based on the recommendations of the Central Committee, the 14th Politburo also assigned Tran Cam Tu, a Politburo member, to continue in the role of Executive Secretary of the Secretariat.
