A total of 27 businesses from Central Vietnam participated in the event, presenting new tourism products specifically tailored to Australian tourists. The businesses showcased unique offerings, including eco-friendly resorts, adventure tourism packages, and cultural tours, all designed to appeal to Australian travelers.
Following the Melbourne event, tourism authorities from the three provinces plan to organize a similar event, titled "Heritage Journey," in Sydney. This will further promote the region and continue building connections with Australian tourism businesses.
Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of Quang Nam’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, noted the collaborative brand-building effort between the provinces.
"The 'Miraculous Heritage Region' brand is a joint initiative aimed at strengthening the international market presence of Central Vietnam, showcasing the region's rich heritage and natural beauty," he explained.
Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of Thua Thien’s Department of Tourism, highlighted the growth in Australian visitors. "In the first seven months of 2024, we saw nearly a 120% increase in Australian tourists compared to 2019, which was a peak year for international tourism in the region," he said.
Australia currently ranks among the top 10 international markets for tourism to Central Vietnam. In the first seven months of 2024 alone, approximately 165,000 Australian tourists visited Thua Thien, Da Nang, and Quang Nam.
The success of the "Miraculous Heritage Region" initiative is expected to drive even more Australian visitors to the region, as Central Vietnam continues to enhance its tourism offerings and strengthen ties with international markets.
