Three other undersea cable networks, AAE-1 (Asia-Africa-Euro 1), AAG (Asia, America Gateway), and APG (Asia Pacific Gateway), are expected to be fixed in mid-May and June, respectively.

The country is currently connected with seven undersea cables, including SMW3, AAG, IA, APG, AAE-1, SJC2, and ADC. The SJC2 and the ADC are yet to be officially operational, while the SMW3 cable is outdated and about to be decommissioned. This means that the nation has a total of five active undersea cables that connect it to the outside world, with all of them enduring problems.

This has caused internet speeds between Vietnam and the rest of the world to slow to a crawl, with many users reporting problems when it comes to video streaming and accessing online services, among other issues.

The Ministry had actively worked alongside cable managers and international partners in a bid to quickly handle and ensure service provision for customers.
