All 33 students in Class 9C1 at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School secured places at specialist schools across Hanoi in the 2026 admissions cycle.

According to school statistics, the class recorded a total of 102 specialist-school admissions, with 31 of the 33 students receiving offers from at least two specialist schools.

The results included 22 admissions to the High School for Foreign Languages, 13 to Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students, 22 to Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, eight to Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, 29 to Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, four to Son Tay High School for the Gifted, two to the High School for Gifted Students under the University of Science, and two to the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities.

In Hanoi's public high school entrance examination, every student in the class scored at least 25 points, while 14 students achieved scores of 27 or higher.

Vu Thi Dieu Huong, homeroom teacher and English teacher of Class 9C1, said she was delighted and deeply moved by the students' achievements.

She said the results reflected four years of sustained effort and dedication by the students. According to Huong, the class stood out not only for strong academic foundations but also for its determination and positive spirit.

"The 2022-2026 cohort had its own unique character. The students were cheerful, closely connected and full of affection. While teachers sometimes had to remind them to focus on their studies, that carefree spirit helped them maintain a healthy mindset without excessive pressure. In the end, they exceeded all expectations," she said.

The class also recorded strong achievements beyond entrance examinations. Nineteen students hold IELTS scores ranging from 7.0 to 8.5, including 12 students with scores of 8.0 or higher.

During the current academic year, 14 students won city-level academic awards, including four first prizes, four second prizes, three third prizes and three consolation prizes.

Huong added that the class actively participated in school activities and consistently earned awards, while parents played an unusually enthusiastic role in supporting school events.

Another perfect result in mathematics and informatics

A similar achievement was recorded by Class 9C1 at Archimedes Secondary School, where all 34 students gained admission to specialist mathematics or informatics programmes at Hanoi's leading high schools.

Among them, 20 students were admitted to specialist mathematics or informatics classes at the High School for Gifted Students under the University of Science, while 26 secured places in specialist programmes at Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students, including one runner-up in the specialist mathematics entrance examination and several scholarship recipients.

All 34 students were admitted to specialist mathematics or informatics classes at specialist high schools managed by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

One student, Tran Duy An, received admission offers from seven specialist programmes, while several others secured three offers each.

Pham Ngoc Mai, homeroom teacher and mathematics teacher of the class, described the outcome as extraordinary.

"The feeling was beyond anything I could have imagined. Having taught university statistics, I understand how rare and difficult it is for an entire class to achieve something like this," Mai said.

He recalled that students, parents and teachers were overwhelmed when the results were announced.

"Many parents stayed up all night sharing their happiness. The following evening, the whole class gathered to celebrate because everyone was simply overjoyed," he said.

Mai credited the success to strong support from the school, dedicated teachers, engaged parents and, above all, the students' relentless determination.

Throughout the academic year, teachers encouraged students to remain confident, never give up and continuously work on improving their weaknesses.

Beyond academic excellence, Mai said the class was known for its unity, kindness and willingness to help one another progress.

The teacher noted that this was the third consecutive cohort under his supervision to achieve a 100% admission rate to specialist mathematics and informatics programmes.
