On the morning of July 23, the impact of Storm No. 2 (Prapiroon) was evident in Hai Phong, where heavy and very heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms, led to significant damage. The powerful storm caused numerous trees on sidewalks across various districts of Hai Phong to break and fall.

A representative of Hai Phong Park and Tree Company said: "In response to the uprooted trees, we have quickly mobilized cleanup teams to restore and trim trees to prevent further damage from future storms."

The Hai Phong City People's Committee reported that, as of 5pm on July 22, there were 3,850 tourists staying on Cat Ba Island (Cat Hai District).

The Cat Hai District People's Committee has instructed accommodation providers to reduce room rates by 50% or more for guests who must stay on the island due to the storm. Phu Long Commune has arranged free accommodation and meals for 27 drivers at the commune's cultural center.

In addition, 1,313 tourists in Do Son District have been safely accommodated without incident.

In preparation for Storm No. 2, the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee has instructed all levels, sectors, and local units to be fully prepared to prevent and address the impacts of the storm and heavy rains.

Efforts are also being made to increase public information and awareness, advising citizens to take precautions to protect themselves and their property, and to minimize outdoor activities during the storm and heavy rain.
