Specifically, UBS AG London now holds more than 81.5 million VPB shares, equivalent to 1.028% of the bank’s charter capital.
UBS AG London is the London branch of UBS AG, a Swiss-headquartered multinational financial services and banking group. The institution is well known for its expertise in wealth management, investment banking, and personal financial services.
As of the end of the January 16 trading session, foreign ownership at VPBank stood at nearly 25%, according to data from the Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD).
With UBS AG London’s entry, the list of shareholders holding at least 1% of VPBank’s charter capital now includes another major foreign name, alongside strategic investor Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), which currently owns 15% of the bank.
According to a previous report, VPBank had 17 shareholders holding more than 1% of its charter capital, including 13 individuals and 4 institutional investors. Together, they own a total of nearly 5.1 billion shares, equivalent to 64.2% of the bank’s capital.
Among the individual shareholders, Mr. Ngo Chi Dung, Chairman of VPBank’s Board of Directors, remains the largest with 328.5 million shares, accounting for 4.141% of the charter capital.
As of the end of Q3 2025, VPBank ranked as the largest private bank in Vietnam by total assets, which exceeded VND 1.18 quadrillion (approximately USD 47.3 billion). The bank also recorded nearly VND 20.4 trillion (approximately USD 817 million) in pre-tax profit over the first nine months - surpassing its full-year 2024 performance and setting a new record.
In addition, VPBank has shown marked improvements in asset quality and continues to lead the banking sector in capital adequacy ratio (CAR).
