Phu Quoc  is expected to be first destination to receive foreign tourists after the Government approved the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’ proposal on a pilot plan to welcome tourists back under the vaccine passport program.

In addition to previous plans to open Phu Quoc Island to international tourists, Ha Long, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Da Lat will also welcome tourists this year, under a plan developed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

There was good news on September 4: A flight carrying 297 Vietnamese citizens from Japan landed at Van Don airport in Quang Ninh province. The passengers were fully vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

Hanoi has asked the Ministry of Health (MOH) to give guidance on allowing fully vaccinated people to travel and participate in production and pandemic prevention activities.

The Politburo has agreed that Phu Quoc resort island in Kien Giang Province will be Vietnam’s first locality to pilot the acceptane of international visitors’ vaccine passports in a number of tourist sites that can control the pandemic.
