According to the directive, since its opening on August 28, the exhibition themed “80 Years of the Journey for Independence - Freedom - Happiness” has garnered significant public attention and created a profound nationwide impact.
The exhibition serves as an opportunity to honor history and showcase the outstanding accomplishments of the Communist Party, the State, and the Vietnamese people in protecting, building, and developing the nation over the past 80 years. It also plays an important role in promoting patriotism, strengthening public confidence in the country’s path toward innovation and sustainable development, and presenting the image of a dynamic, globally integrated Vietnam. Moreover, the exhibition allows citizens to directly engage with and experience the nation's development milestones.
To meet public demand and allow more time for visitors to explore and participate in the exhibition's events and activities, and based on a proposal by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Prime Minister has decided to extend the event until the end of September 15.
The Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism with coordinating ministries, sectors, localities, organizations, and relevant units to review all preparations and ensure the necessary conditions for the exhibition to run smoothly and efficiently. This includes ensuring quality, effectiveness, security, safety, and environmental hygiene to provide a welcoming experience for citizens and stakeholders.
The ministry is also instructed to negotiate with related parties to minimize costs for venue rental, equipment, materials, labor, and other associated expenses. These efforts aim to ensure quality and effectiveness while practicing cost-efficiency, avoiding waste, and reducing the burden on the state budget in line with legal regulations.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with other entities, is to identify and determine the budget support required from the central government for the extension. The final budget proposal must be submitted to the Ministry of Finance by September 4.
The Ministry of Finance is responsible for coordinating with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to review the funding requirements and report to higher authorities regarding the allocation of central government support to ministries, localities, and relevant organizations involved in the extended exhibition.
Ensuring safety, environmental hygiene, and public convenience
The Prime Minister has also requested ministers, heads of government agencies, and chairpersons of provinces and centrally governed cities to ensure the necessary conditions, assign personnel, and effectively manage the exhibition space. This includes guaranteeing security, safety, sanitation, and a comfortable environment for the public and institutions visiting the exhibition.
Local governments are expected to ensure continuous supply and high-quality goods in the culinary zones throughout the extended exhibition period while highlighting and preserving their unique local culinary identities.
The Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Health, and Hanoi’s municipal government will coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to maintain optimal conditions for public security, traffic safety, fire prevention, sanitation, food safety, and healthcare services for visitors and exhibition personnel.
Additionally, the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industry and Trade are directed to promptly disseminate information and encourage businesses to continue participating in the exhibition until its conclusion on September 15.
