The victory marked a historic milestone for both Quynh Nhu and Vietnamese artistic gymnastics. Prior to this triumph, Quynh Nhu had earned silver in the vault event at the Asian Championships. This latest achievement stands as a fully deserved and proud moment in her career.
Born in 1998 in Ho Chi Minh City, Quynh Nhu first won silver medals at the 31st SEA Games in 2022 on home soil, competing in the women’s team and individual vault events. The World Challenge Cup gold is now the highest achievement of her career.
Vietnam sent five gymnasts to compete at the 2026 FIG World Challenge Cup in Uzbekistan from May 21 to 24. The squad included Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu, Vu Tien Anh and Nguyen Phuoc Hai across men’s and women’s events. The tournament is the team’s first international competition of 2026.
At last year’s edition in Bulgaria, Khanh Phong won silver in the still rings event, while Xuan Thien secured gold in pommel horse. Both athletes remain key contributors to Vietnam’s gymnastics team on the international stage.
