On August 13, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Digital Transformation Center, in collaboration with the Tourism Development Support Fund, launched the competition. In recent years, Vietnam’s tourism sector has grown strongly, contributing significantly to economic growth and national image building.

In the first seven months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed a record-breaking 12 million international visitors, served around 93 million domestic travelers, and generated revenue of approximately VND 616 trillion (about USD 24.3 billion).

Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan, Director of the Digital Transformation Center and Editor-in-Chief of the Ministry’s e-portal, noted that in an increasingly competitive international tourism landscape, creating compelling, emotional, and widely shareable media products is essential.

Organizers hope the creativity of the public will produce a wealth of unique videos capturing Vietnam’s landscapes and people, helping to position the country as an attractive, high-quality, and sustainable destination. Suggested themes include cultural heritage, new tourism products, green and responsible tourism, wellness tourism, golf tourism, and MICE tourism, aligning with the 2021–2030 Tourism System Master Plan, vision 2045, and Vietnam’s tourism marketing strategy to 2030.

“The competition is a place for everyone to tell their story - sometimes just a fleeting moment, but enough to inspire and contribute to Vietnam’s tourism brand,” Lan said.

A key rule prohibits the use of AI-generated images, with organizers seeking to honor authentic moments of Vietnam’s land, people, and culture.

The contest is open to all Vietnamese citizens (domestically and abroad), foreigners living in Vietnam, and organizations operating in the country. Each entrant or team can submit up to five works in either short video format (max 60 seconds) or long video format (max 5 minutes).

Entries will be accepted from August 15 to November 15, 2025. Prizes include two first prizes, four second prizes, ten third prizes, and other awards, with a total value exceeding VND 600 million (about USD 23,700). The award ceremony is scheduled for December in Hanoi.
