The Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration has officially launched a mobile application titled “Thoi tiet Viet Nam KTTV,” (Vietnam weather KTTV) enabling users to access real-time weather information and receive alerts for dangerous and extreme conditions.

The application was introduced on April 8 by the administration under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
According to the agency, what sets the app apart is its extensive data infrastructure, drawing from a network of more than 2,600 automated monitoring stations and a modern weather radar system spanning the entire country.
Instead of relying solely on international forecasting models, the platform integrates in-depth local data, allowing it to update weather conditions at the user’s location every 10 minutes. It also provides detailed forecasts for up to 10 days.
Beyond basic weather indicators, the application features a breakthrough capability to issue real-time alerts for hazardous natural events such as thunderstorms, flash floods, and landslides.
Using GPS-based positioning, the system classifies risks into levels - moderate, high, and very high - accompanied by specific action recommendations. Users can also search for and save up to 10 favorite locations, making it easier to monitor weather developments anytime and anywhere.
The application is currently available free of charge on both iOS and Android platforms.
