Vietnam has officially introduced its national tourism data platform, Visit Vietnam, designed to integrate information, bookings, and advanced technologies into a single ecosystem that could evolve into a “super app” for travelers.

The launch was announced on August 15 at the conference “Tourism Data in Digital Economy Development”, hosted by the National Tourism Authority of Vietnam and the National Data Association.

Visit Vietnam provides destination information, authentic reviews, and service booking tools. It also integrates cutting-edge technologies such as the AI Travel Assistant, which helps travelers automatically plan and book trips, and NDAchain.vn, a national blockchain platform for decentralized authentication and data transparency.

The platform links services across transport, accommodation, dining, and nationwide loyalty programs. With blockchain and tokenization security, data on the system will be verified and strictly protected.

Officials expect Visit Vietnam to resolve long-standing problems in the industry such as scattered, unlinked information and difficulty in accessing services. It will support tourists with easier trip planning, help businesses design personalized products, and provide government agencies with real-time data for policymaking.

Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the National Tourism Authority, emphasized that digital transformation is a key driver:

“The tourism sector has been tasked with welcoming 25 million international visitors and serving around 150 million domestic tourists this year. Leveraging technology and digital platforms is essential for achieving growth of 8.3–8.5% of GDP in 2025 and sustaining double-digit expansion in the following years.”

Development roadmap

·        October 2025: Launch of the national tourism data platform, National Tourism Dashboard 1.0 for government use, and a public information portal.

·        Q2 2026: Public launch of the platform with blockchain-based authentic reviews and AI-powered trip planning tools.

·        APEC 2027: Global debut featuring direct booking services, AI itinerary suggestions, and Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) for businesses.

·        Post-2027: Expansion into a fully-fledged super app with one-touch bookings, multimedia integration, and international reach.
