Among VAMA members and non-member importers, sales of domestically assembled vehicles totaled 12,541 units in June, down 4% from May.

Sales of completely built-up imported vehicles reached 18,563 units, an increase of 10% over the previous month.

The figures indicate that imported vehicles continued to strengthen their position and remained the dominant segment of the market during the first half of 2026.

In the first six months of 2026, total vehicle sales reached 187,833 units, compared with 163,021 units during the same period in 2025, representing year-on-year growth of 15%.

By vehicle type:

Passenger vehicle sales increased 9%.
Commercial vehicle sales rose 28%.
Special-purpose vehicle sales surged 119%.

By production source, sales of domestically assembled vehicles totaled 82,492 units, up 7% year-on-year.

Sales of imported vehicles reached 105,341 units, an increase of 23% compared with the first half of 2025.

VAMA noted that the figures reflect only part of Vietnam's overall automobile market.

In addition to VAMA members and independent importers, VinFast and Hyundai are among the country's largest automakers, but they report their sales separately.
