The year 2025 witnessed a surge of unconventional, emotionally rich, and uniquely styled weddings across Vietnam - earning millions of views and widespread admiration on social media.

Rather than extravagant displays, many couples chose to express love in deeply personal ways, turning their big day into a story worth remembering.

Bui Do Thanh Thuong (born 2000, from Quang Nam) married Cho Myoung Jun, a South Korean from Miryang who is 14 years her senior. The couple met through a Korean-Vietnamese language exchange app.

Their wedding was held in February 2025, fulfilling Thuong’s long-held dream of a romantic flower-filled celebration in Dalat, surrounded by loved ones.

She chose an intimate setting among pine trees, inviting just 30 guests.

A poignant detail was the empty chair reserved for her late father-in-law, placed prominently as a gesture of remembrance.

Guests came from South Korea, Quang Nam, and Ho Chi Minh City. When sending invitations, Thuong asked each guest about dietary preferences and allergies, then designed a personalized menu for everyone.

The couple arranged accommodations, makeup services, and transportation for out-of-town guests. She also grouped guests by familiarity to ensure no one felt isolated.

And notably, no wedding gifts or cash envelopes were accepted.

These thoughtful touches created an unforgettable wedding - for both the couple and their guests.

Gia Nghi, from Tien Giang, held her wedding on June 13. On the big day, her aunt and uncle surprised her with a fruit buffet featuring 20 types of fruits - including dragon fruit, coconut, jackfruit, pineapple, banana, and rambutan - totaling 600 kilograms.

Nghi, who works in Ho Chi Minh City, returned to her hometown just one day before the wedding and was stunned to find the fruit station nearly complete. It was set up near the welcome area and floral arch.

The fruits had been gathered over the course of a month, with the final selections delivered two days before the event.

A Lam Dong bride decorates her wedding with 500kg of vegetables

Van Anh (real name: Tran Sim, born 2002) held her wedding in June 2025 at her home in Lang Biang Ward, Lam Dong.

The wedding was a visual feast, with every element - from the entrance and dining area to the backdrop and photo zone - decorated with locally grown vegetables, arranged in colorful and artistic displays.

Van Anh’s family runs a large-scale vegetable farm, and she wanted the wedding to reflect their roots.

Her family sourced, sorted, and prepared the produce by hand, then collaborated with a wedding decorator to bring the idea to life.

A total of 500 kilograms of vegetables were used.

After the wedding, a portion of the vegetables was gifted to guests, while the rest was kept for family use.

A Vinh Long groom hosts 80 tables in a 10,000m² coconut garden

Bui Minh Tan, a groom from Vinh Long (formerly Tra Vinh), went viral for hosting his wedding in his family’s 10,000-square-meter coconut garden on December 21.

Tan chose not to erect a wedding tent or opt for lavish decor. Instead, he embraced the natural landscape, welcoming guests beneath the canopy of green coconut trees.

He explained that he wanted a wedding that was intimate, nature-connected, and different - an idea fully supported by his family.

Ahead of the ceremony, Tan hired a team to clean the garden, remove dead leaves and spoiled coconuts, and ensure guest safety. He also monitored the weather closely to guarantee the outdoor celebration would run smoothly.

The “natural wedding hall” surprised and charmed many, earning widespread praise for its originality.
