The Prime Minister has instructed localities to organize festive cultural events and fireworks displays to uplift public spirits for the National Day celebration on September 2.

During the regular government meeting on August 7, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on 34 provinces and cities across the country to organize cultural activities, music performances, and fireworks displays in celebration of the National Day on September 2.

The Prime Minister emphasized that local governments must avoid any unfortunate mistakes and ensure that events are conducted in a dignified, safe, and cost-effective manner while creating a joyful and uplifting atmosphere to enrich the spiritual life of citizens.

This year, around 200 major infrastructure projects are scheduled to be launched or inaugurated during the holiday period. These events mark a renewed determination to recover and accelerate socio-economic development following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among the key celebrations is a large-scale military parade involving nearly 19,000 officers and soldiers.

There will be six primary components of the parade: the torch-bearing honor guard and ceremonial flame unit; ceremonial artillery unit; air force flyover; marching military and police units; background formations including ceremonial guards and military-police blocks; and artistic formations forming patterns and letters, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Of particular note, Vietnam will hold its first large-scale naval parade at sea. The event will feature the Kilo-class submarine 636, nicknamed the "black hole of the ocean," along with surface ships and naval air forces showcasing their strength in national waters.

Major General Tong Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Education and Information under the General Department of Politics (Ministry of National Defense), revealed that the naval parade will take place simultaneously with a parade of armored vehicles, military artillery, and specialized police vehicles. The parade will be broadcast live from the sea to Ba Dinh Square - the symbolic heart of this year’s National Day celebration.
