Responding to a question from VietNamNet on the evening of June 15 regarding Vietnam's reaction to the agreement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: "Vietnam welcomes the announcement by the United States and Iran that they have reached a peace agreement. We highly appreciate the efforts that contributed to achieving this agreement."

Vietnam called on all relevant parties to promptly sign and fully implement the agreement, creating conditions for a comprehensive and sustainable solution that would bring peace and stability to the Middle East, including the Strait of Hormuz.

The spokesperson emphasized that such efforts should be based on international law and the United Nations Charter, serving the interests of countries in the region and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development both regionally and globally.

The United States and Iran earlier announced that they had reached an agreement to end the conflict, under which Washington would immediately lift its naval blockade against Iran.

"The deal with Iran is done. Congratulations to everyone," US President Donald Trump wrote on social media on June 14 US time.

The agreement has been welcomed by the United Nations secretary-general and leaders from numerous countries, who expressed hope that it would pave the way for long-term regional stability and broader diplomatic engagement.

The deal was announced after more than three months of conflict between the two countries. Full details of the agreement have not yet been released, although Pakistan, which played a key mediating role, said the accord is expected to be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19.

Negotiations on a range of outstanding issues, including Iran's nuclear program, are expected to continue.
