On the afternoon of February 26, Mai Duc Chung confirmed the list of 26 players who will represent Vietnam at the continental tournament. Notably, forward Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan of Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC was added to the squad. She joined the national team on February 18 to replace an injured player and reinforce Vietnam’s attacking strength.

At the 2026 Asian Cup, Vietnam are drawn in Group C, where they will face India on March 4, Chinese Taipei on March 7 and Japan on March 10. All matches will be played in Perth, Australia. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarterfinals.

“We are very pleased that our training plans have been carried out smoothly. There is nothing more encouraging than seeing the players return to form. At this moment, the Vietnam women’s national team are ready for the tournament,” Mai Duc Chung affirmed.

Assessing the level of competition in Asia, the veteran coach noted that teams such as China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Australia remain among the continent’s leading forces. A recent training camp and friendly matches in China provided Vietnam with valuable tests, particularly against physically stronger and higher-level opponents.
