Nguyen Thi Van Su and Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy scored in the 8th and 13th minutes respectively to give Vietnam an early advantage they held through full time.

The result sees Vietnam top Group B and set up a favorable semifinal encounter against Indonesia.

Vietnam lined up with Kim Thanh, Hoang Thi Loan, Diem My, Tran Thi Duyen, Tran Thi Thu, Thai Thi Thao, Hai Linh, Thanh Nha, Bich Thuy, Van Su, and Hai Yen.

Myanmar’s lineup featured Mya Nyein, Mon Myint, Phyu Phwe, Ya Oo, Phyu Win, Htet Wai, Mo Tun, Lae Oo, Thaw Thaw, Yuper Khin, and Win Theingi Tun.

President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Tran Quoc Tuan, congratulated both the U22 men’s team and the women’s national team, praising their determination and synchronized efforts.

“Today is a truly special day. Both U22 and women’s teams played simultaneously in decisive matches, and both secured excellent results. Early in the first half, both teams led 2-0. That helped us secure top positions in our groups,” he said.

After the women's team’s win, VFF awarded the squad a hot bonus of VND 700 million (approximately USD 29,000). Tran Quoc Tuan personally met the team and urged them to stay focused ahead of the semifinal.

Coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed: “We are fully focused on the semifinal against Indonesia and will give our best to defend our gold medal.”
