According to the schedule, the team departed from Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) to Bangkok, followed by a connecting flight to Phuket. However, a delay at Suvarnabhumi Airport caused a setback, resulting in the team only arriving at their base in Phuket by the evening of August 20. In total, Thanh Thuy and her teammates spent nearly 12 hours traveling and waiting.

This disruption inevitably caused fatigue for both the coaching staff and athletes. Nevertheless, the entire squad is determined to overcome the challenges and prepare as best as possible for the upcoming competition.

As planned, the team will have at least two practice sessions before their opening match against world-ranked No. 3 Poland on August 23. Facing such a formidable opponent, head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet affirmed that the main goal is to learn, gain experience, and play with full effort.

Le Tri Truong, General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV), stated that there are no performance targets for this debut at the world level. Instead, the tournament is a stepping stone toward the 33rd SEA Games later this year, where the team aims for gold.

A key concern for fans is the replacement of Bich Tuyen in the opposite hitter position, after the 2000-born attacker withdrew from the squad. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet confirmed that the staff had already prepared alternative plans and hopes the replacement will rise to the challenge during the world championship.
