VietNamNet Bridge – A Saigon man has bought an SIM card from the owner of a gold shop in the northern province of Thai Binh at the cost of up to VND9.9 billion (nearly $500,000).

The SIM card seller, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nghia, who runs a chain of gold shops in Thai Binh Province said he bought a super-SIM (999 999 0969) from the boss of a restaurant and wedding center in the southern city of Vung Tau in early March, at the price of VND8 billion (nearly $40,000).

Recently, he met with Mr. Thai Minh Phuong, a trader of SIM cards in HCM City, who offered to buy the SIM card for VND9.9 billion and Nghia decided to sell it.

"I bought that phone number to use as the hot line of my gold shops but Phuong was very eager to purchase my SIM card at the attractive price so I decided to sell it and then bought another super-SIM (888888),” said Nghia.

Phuong has confirmed the deal with Nghia, adding that it was completed on March 28. Phuong said he would use the number for himself.

This super-SIM is said to consist of very nice numbers, with number 6 symbolizing fortune and number 9 representing eternality.

In 2015, the super-SIM (999 999 0989) of the Chairman of Mai Linh Group was sold to a super-SIM trader in HCM City at the price of nearly VND5 billion ($250,000) and now is valued at up to VND10 billion ($500,000).

Another super-SIM (0933 999 999) of Mr. Do Trong Hieu, Director of the Me Linh Commercial Services Company, has just been sold to a businessman in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on November 2, 2015 at the price of nearly VND3 billion ($150,000).
