The initiative marks the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, aiming to evoke national pride, honor historical traditions, and commemorate the indomitable revolutionary spirit of past generations.
Do Tien Sy, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, shared that within just over a day of opening, the program had already attracted large crowds, particularly young people. “This shows the yearning to relive the historic moment of September 2, 1945 - to immerse oneself in the sea of people at Ba Dinh Square and witness the sacred moment when the nation proclaimed independence and freedom,” he said.
The project applies VR (virtual reality) and AI (artificial intelligence) technologies to recreate the atmosphere of September 2, 1945 with striking authenticity and emotion. Visitors can journey back 80 years, standing at Ba Dinh Square as President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence. Every detail - from the resounding applause of tens of thousands to the solemn vows to defend the homeland - has been vividly reconstructed, creating a powerful and moving experience.
Professor Tu Thi Loan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Community Culture Development Association and a member of the project’s advisory council, emphasized the team’s dedication to historical accuracy: “The faces of young men and women in the virtual space are all unique, no two alike. Details such as President Ho Chi Minh’s attire, the type of vehicle used, and the placement of the Ba Dinh Square podium were all verified through archival documents and expert consultations.”
According to the organizers, the exhibition marks a breakthrough in integrating modern technology into journalism and communications. All equipment and technology used in the project were developed in Vietnam, underscoring national capability while reviving one of the country’s greatest historical milestones.
Following its launch on August 20, the program will continue from August 28 to September 5 at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi, within the Voice of Vietnam’s showcase area.
