Voters and citizens expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the results of the comprehensive organizational reform of the political system. The new streamlined, efficient, and effective two-tier local government model is now more responsive and closer to the people.

After more than three months of implementation, commune-level authorities have been empowered to handle administrative procedures and public services more efficiently.

Chien also highlighted the public’s appreciation for the successful celebrations of the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), including the national exhibition showcasing the country’s achievements.

In addition, policies such as waiving tuition fees from preschool through high school, providing periodic health checkups and healthcare subsidies, and investing in inter-level boarding schools for 248 border communes were all highly praised.

Notably, on the occasion of the 80th National Day, the Party and State granted each citizen 100,000 VND (about USD 4), which stirred patriotic emotions and national pride among the public. This act was seen as a heartfelt gesture of care from the Party and State, reinforcing the bond: “The Party for the people, the people trust the Party.”

Voters also voiced strong support for the ongoing fight against corruption, waste, and misconduct. They recognized significant progress in both prevention and enforcement in these areas.

However, many also expressed concerns about fraudulent phone calls and online scams involving fake promotions, sales, and giveaways.

Chien noted that while the United States has made some adjustments to tariff policies, the continued risk of trade restrictions still threatens Vietnam’s key export sectors.

Global inflation, along with volatile gold and real estate prices, also raises public anxiety about the stability of the domestic economy.

Additionally, voters were concerned about unstable markets for agricultural products, rising costs for raw materials and electricity, and fire safety violations, which still pose serious risks and have led to fatal incidents.

Natural disasters, particularly successive storms and floods, were also a pressing worry due to their severe impact on lives and livelihoods.

“In cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, chronic flooding and traffic congestion remain unresolved. People are urging the Party and State to provide more practical and sustainable solutions for disaster prevention, climate change adaptation, and environmental protection to ensure public safety and stability,” Chien reported.

Voters also raised concerns about delayed or suspended infrastructure projects, which waste public resources, infringe on citizens’ rights, and hinder business operations.

There are ongoing issues with commune-level infrastructure and human resources, with local officials either being in surplus or shortage. These problems require more decisive solutions.

Public frustration was particularly high over unresolved scams and fraud, especially those exploiting social media and digital technologies to target vulnerable individuals.

Based on this feedback, the Vietnam Fatherland Front recommended that the Party and State continue to issue detailed guidance on implementing the restructured two-tier local government model, ensuring that it is truly lean, efficient, and effective.

It also emphasized the need to select leaders who are truly competent, virtuous, and capable of serving the country and its people.

Voters called on the Party and State to strengthen leadership, oversight, and enforcement to ensure state agencies and officials fulfill their responsibilities in citizen engagement, complaint resolution, and transparency.

Chien urged the government to enhance its crackdown on counterfeit goods, poor-quality products, and deceptive advertising. He also warned about impersonations of state agencies used to intimidate or defraud citizens online, and called for strict punishment for those spreading false information that harms individuals, organizations, and the credibility of the Party and State.
