Vu The Phiet, the current CEO of ACV, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board, succeeding Lai Xuan Thanh, who has retired effective September 1.
Phiet, born in 1973 and holding a master's degree in Business Administration, has been a prominent figure in Vietnam's aviation sector since 1995. His previous roles include Director of Noi Bai Airport (2012-2017), Deputy CEO of ACV (2017-2018), and CEO of ACV since August 2018.
On the same day, Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the State Capital Investment Corporation, officially announced Lai Xuan Thanh’s retirement, effective September 1, 2024. Thanh had served as Chairman of ACV’s Board.
ACV operates as a parent-subsidiary model with 95.4% state ownership. It manages and invests in a network of 22 airports across the country, including 10 international airports.
In 2023, ACV's airports served 113.5 million passengers, a 15% increase from 2022, with international passengers reaching 32.6 million, a 173% rise from the previous year.
Currently, ACV is spearheading major national projects such as the construction of Passenger Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the development of Long Thanh International Airport.
