The online travel platform Tripadvisor has announced the Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Destinations 2026 awards, with Hue ranked sixth among the world’s 25 most romantic honeymoon destinations.

According to international travelers on Tripadvisor, Hue “is not only a historical attraction but also a place where time seems to slow down, allowing couples to savor intimate and meaningful moments.”

The harmonious blend of poetic landscapes, refined cuisine and boutique hotels or high-end riverside resorts has helped position Hue as an ideal honeymoon choice.

The honeymoon category honors destinations that offer romantic, private spaces and emotionally rich experiences for couples.

Hue’s tourism season typically runs from November to April, with the period from February to early April considered the most pleasant. During these months, the weather is cool, skies are clear and sunlight is gentle - ideal conditions for sightseeing. Since before the Lunar New Year, poetic images of Hue have been widely shared across social media.

Statistics show that during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 holiday, Hue tourism recorded impressive growth. The city welcomed an estimated 520,000 visitors, up 245 percent year-on-year. Of these, international arrivals reached approximately 249,000, up 219 percent, while domestic visitors totaled more than 274,370, up 273 percent compared to the same period.

Truong Tien Bridge spanning the gentle and poetic Huong River remains a must-visit landmark for anyone coming to Hue. At this time of year, lush green lawns and vibrant fields of spider flowers and chrysanthemums brighten the riverbanks.

Dong Ho Vy, a Hue native, shared that in February and March the city becomes even more radiant as many flowers bloom. Although visitor numbers increase, Hue still retains its distinctive softness that makes people fall in love at first sight.

In the late afternoon, travelers can stroll along the Huong River and watch the peaceful, romantic sunset.

Many visitors say that at the beginning of the year, “every corner of Hue looks beautiful.”

For those wishing to admire the city shimmering under lights from the river, a dragon boat cruise accompanied by traditional Hue folk singing offers a unique experience.

The Imperial City of Hue features more than 100 notable architectural works, including Ngo Mon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, Dien Tho Palace, Truong Sanh Palace, Hung Mieu and The Mieu. From the main gate to the palace courtyards and gardens inside, spring colors appear everywhere, with carefully arranged pots of chrysanthemums, apricot blossoms and poinsettias alongside ornamental greenery.

With more time in Hue, visitors can explore An Dinh Palace, which resembles a splendid European-style castle yet incorporates traditional royal motifs; Thien Mu Pagoda; Tu Hieu Pagoda; the tomb of Minh Mang; and the tomb of Tu Duc.

Nature lovers may head to Tam Giang Lagoon, Ru Cha mangrove forest or Bach Ma National Park. Although the sea remains slightly cool in the early months of the year, beaches such as Thuan An and Lang Co Bay are already strikingly beautiful.
