According to investigators, the police, in coordination with the cybersecurity unit, discovered that a YouTube channel named “Ky Su Bi Mat” had uploaded numerous videos containing fabricated, horror-style narratives about incidents that never occurred in Da Lat.
The investigation revealed that between June and December 2025, the woman used AI tools to generate 415 fictional storytelling videos aimed at attracting viewers and increasing engagement, thereby generating revenue from the platform.
Many of the videos carried shocking and disturbing titles, such as stories about students being buried alive, gruesome murders, or human remains allegedly discovered in everyday settings. Though entirely fabricated, the content was designed to provoke fear and curiosity.
The channel accumulated more than 10 million views and over 113,000 subscribers.
During questioning, the woman admitted to the violations and pledged not to repeat the behavior.
Authorities imposed an administrative fine of VND7.5 million (US$300) for “providing and sharing fabricated, false, distorted or defamatory information that affects the reputation of organizations and the honor and dignity of individuals.”
Lam Dong police also urged social media users to be more responsible when sharing content online, emphasizing the need to verify information before publishing. The misuse of AI to create and spread false narratives, they warned, not only misleads the public but also violates the law and will be handled strictly.
