With high praise from both Vietnamese and international audiences, Zootopia 2 has been widely hailed as Disney’s best sequel in years.
The film delivers a true visual spectacle, living up to and even surpassing the quality of its predecessor. Disney Animation raised the bar once again with hyper-realistic fur textures, dynamic lighting, and masterfully choreographed action and chase sequences that span the vibrant zones of Zootopia.
Despite slipping to second place, Truy tim long dien huong still pulled in 18 billion VND (about 725,000 USD) over the same weekend, bringing its total gross to 177 billion VND (over 7.1 million USD). It managed to outperform all other new releases debuting that weekend.
Meanwhile, Now You See Me: Disappearing Act, a newly released film, landed in third place with 5.3 billion VND (approximately 213,000 USD).
In fourth position was the horror-comedy Haunted Maternity Boarding House, which earned 2.5 billion VND (roughly 100,000 USD).
Rounding out the top five was Finding a Wife for Dad, starring veteran actress NSND Hong Van, with a modest weekend haul of 1.2 billion VND (about 48,000 USD). After ten days in theaters, the film has earned 8 billion VND (around 320,000 USD).
Quan Ky Nam, featuring Do Thi Hai Yen and Lien Binh Phat, also premiered over the weekend. However, as an arthouse film with limited audience appeal, it ranked sixth at the box office, earning just under 1 billion VND (about 40,000 USD).
