From the start of 2025 to now, Party disciplinary bodies have sanctioned more than 330 Party organizations and over 9,600 Party members.
At the Central level, the Politburo, Secretariat, and Central Inspection Commission disciplined 23 officials under Central management, including 6 individuals facing criminal prosecution.
Audits and inspections led to financial recovery proposals totaling 75.13 trillion VND (approximately 3.12 billion USD) and 633 hectares of land. In addition, administrative sanctions were recommended for 928 organizations and 3,058 individuals.
Law enforcement across the country launched 3,325 new cases involving 8,516 suspects, related to corruption, economic crimes, and abuse of position. Of these, 585 cases (1,585 suspects) were classified specifically as corruption cases.
For key cases under the committee’s direct oversight, authorities initiated 6 new cases involving 104 suspects, expanded charges to include 172 additional suspects across 16 cases, concluded investigations in 14 cases involving 323 suspects, prosecuted 14 cases with 251 defendants, and conducted 10 first-instance trials involving 167 defendants, along with 14 appellate trials for 253 defendants.
Among the major concluded investigations were those involving the Food Safety Department of the Ministry of Health, ZHolding Company, and land allocation irregularities at Nha Trang Airport.
Completed first-instance trials included high-profile cases such as those involving Thuan An Group, Phuc Son Group, the Saigon-Dai Ninh project in Lam Dong, the Phan Thiet coastal urban development, the Vietnam Register and related units, the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Center under the Ministry of Information and Communications, Thai Son Group, Vietnam Rare Earth JSC, Vietnam Tea Corporation, the Tan Thinh residential project in Dong Nai, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Electricity Group.
Asset seizures exceed 1,270 billion VND
Authorities reported positive progress in asset recovery. Over the year, law enforcement seized, froze, or impounded assets worth more than 1.27 trillion VND (over 52.8 million USD), along with various high-value properties.
In civil enforcement phases for committee-supervised cases, nearly 22.5 trillion VND (around 934 million USD) has been recovered-reaching a 55% recovery rate, and bringing the total amount recovered since the committee’s establishment to 119.83 trillion VND (nearly 5 billion USD).
Efforts to combat waste have also accelerated. Authorities focused on resolving long-delayed and inefficient public projects to avoid further losses, with a principle of “no prolonged waste, no whitewashing of wrongdoing.”
The government and ministries have reviewed and addressed nearly 3,000 stalled or inefficient projects, resolving over 1,150 of them, and handled 10,971 surplus public buildings and land sites after administrative restructuring.
The Government Inspectorate completed over 70 project audits, including 421 problematic projects as directed by the committee. National prosecutors launched 62 cases involving 373 suspects for waste-related misconduct as a warning and deterrent.
Local anti-corruption efforts also showed improvement. Provincial committees restructured staff and strengthened oversight of both prevention and investigation. In 2025, they included nearly 100 corruption and waste-related cases under their direct watch, and ramped up inspection and auditing at the grassroots level.
Authorities took disciplinary action against 98 top or deputy leaders, of whom 46 faced criminal charges. Additionally, more than 250 officials and Party members involved in local anti-corruption bodies were disciplined, with over 60 prosecuted for misconduct.
