A video showing a bride covered in gold jewelry during her engagement ceremony has attracted millions of views on TikTok.

The clip, filmed in Tay Ninh Province, has surpassed 1.3 million views and received more than 50,000 likes within just a few days of being posted.

According to local reports, the bride is Kim Chi, born in 1994 and originally from Tien Giang Province, now part of Dong Thap Province following administrative restructuring.

Her engagement ceremony took place on June 14 in Tay Ninh, where she and her family currently live and work.

Kim Chi said she and her fiancé received numerous valuable gifts from both families during the ceremony, many of which came as a surprise.

The groom’s family presented the couple with four taels of gold, a pair of diamond earrings and VND100 million (USD3,850) in engagement gifts. The bride’s mother gave nine taels of gold, while relatives from the bride’s side contributed another seven taels.

In total, the couple received 20 taels of gold along with several other gifts.

“I was deeply touched by the love and generosity shown by both families,” Kim Chi said. “We feel very fortunate to be surrounded by so much support.”

The engagement ceremony lasted around 90 minutes, with the gift presentation alone taking approximately 40 minutes.

Kim Chi added that the couple plans to hold their wedding later in 2026, allowing them enough time to prepare a meaningful celebration.

The pair had known each other for many years but only began talking and spending time together earlier this year.

After four months of serious dating, they felt they shared similar values, life goals and perspectives. Confident in their compatibility, they decided to build a future together.

Their relationship has received strong support from both families.
