Vietnam has recognised the potential of cruise tourism and is planning to attract more international visitors through this mode of travel.
The Italian-flagged Costa Serena, carrying on board more than 2,400 foreign passengers, arrived at the Ha Long International Cruise Port of Quang Ninh province on November 4.
The world’s most technologically advanced five-star cruise ship Quantum of the Seas, carrying over 2,000 passengers and crewmembers on board, docked at Phu My port of the southern province of Ba Ria- Vung Tau on October 26.
The province looks to further develop attractions for cruise visitors as more ships dock at Cam Ranh.
According to the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, from October 18 to December 30, the locality is scheduled to receive as many as 14 cruise ships.
